Lavender Design Group was founded in 1985 by Carol Lavender in Houston, Texas, and quickly developed a devoted following among Texas builders. Operations moved to Baltimore, Maryland, in 1988. This move broadened the firm's customer base from regional to national. In 1993, the firm moved to its current headquarters in San Antonio, Texas.

Carol Lavender

Carol Lavender is an industry leader in design, as is evident from her numerous design awards and by her reputation for designing successful projects in diverse markets. Her work has been frequently featured in Professional Builder Magazine and Builder Magazine.

Ms. Lavender graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Residential Design. She spent seven years as a designer with David Weekly Homes in Houston, Texas, before striking out on her own to start Lavender Design Group. Ms. Lavender is the company's president and design innovator. She owes her product and market expertise to more than twenty years of builder-based experience in the industry.

Ms. Lavender has received numerous regional and national awards for her designs. Her "Deerfield" design for Southern Homes, Inc. was named "House of the Year" for 2000 by the National Association of Home Builders. Ms. Lavender's expertise in the industry has led to her being called upon to judge the best of home designs. Ms. Lavender is a Member of the Institute of Residential Marketing and has been a featured speaker at numerous conventions and seminars, including the last eight NHBA conventions.
